गृहपृष्ठ ∕ Nepal ∕ I collaborate with media house, FNJ: Minister Gurung Nepal I collaborate with media house, FNJ: Minister Gurung KathmanduPati October 18, 2020 KATHMANDU : Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Parbat Gurung, has said that he will work in collaboration with the media houses and organizations working for journalists’ rights such as the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ). Minister Gurung made such remarks during a meeting with the FNJ officials at his quarters today. “I’m always for the protection and promotion of press freedom, professional media, institutional development and journalists’ rights,” he said, adding that laws and policies necessary for these will be formulated. FNJ President Govinda Acharya congratulated the newly appointed minister and reminded him of the initiatives that the government needs to take to rescue the media in the wake of the present crisis. He stressed the need for border discussion among the government, working journalists and media owners to restore media industry and journalists’ rights. The team also demanded the minister to restructure the media sector in line with Mass Communications Policy, 2073.
