The rallies were organized in Janakpur and Pokhara on Wednesday demanding the reinstatement of deposed King Gyanendra Shah. The demonstrators participating in the rallies also demanded the restoration of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Nepal 1990 and the country’s former identity as a Hindu state. Hundreds of demonstrators joined the pro-monarchy motorbike rallies organized by the Nepal Rastrabadi Samuha carrying national flags. They chanted, ‘Declare Nepal as Hindu State’, ‘Promulgate the Constitution of the Kingdom of Nepal 1990’, ‘Reinstate monarchy’, ‘Stop Corruption’ and ‘End violence and rape’, among other slogans.
