PSG injury time goals injured Atalanta’s semis hope

Lisbon- PSG has reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League after a 2-1 victory over Atalanta on Thursday morning.

After Mario Pasalic’s 26th minute goal, Atalanta had the lead in the game for 64 minutes before Marquinhos’s 90th-minute equalizer. Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting’s 93rd-minute goal then secured the semi-final spot for Paris Saint-German F.C.

“Mbappe coming into the game, combined with the presence of Neymar, changed things for PSG,” said Atalanta boss Gian Piero Gasperini.

PSG’s player Neymar was adjudged Man of the Match. His successful completion of 16 dribbles was the most in a Champions League since Leonel Messi for Barcelona against Manchester United in 2008.

“I never thought of going home. From the warm-up to the end, we believed in it. We never gave up. No-one will take this desire to go to the final away from me,” Said Neymar, PSG player. “We are a great group, we are a family, so we know that with this state of mind, it is impossible to eliminate us.”

PSG will meet the winner of the quarterfinal between RB Leipzig and Atletico Madrid in the first semi-final on Wednesday.
