गृहपृष्ठ ∕ Nepal ∕ Bhagirathi murder incident: NC team in Baitedi Nepal Bhagirathi murder incident: NC team in Baitedi KathmanduPati February 14, 2021 BAITADI – A team led by Nepali Congress central member and former Minister Ramesh Lekhak has reached here for an observation and study of the incident of the rape and murder of 17-year-old Bhagirathi Bhatta of Dogadadekar rural municipality-7. Leader Lekhak will be reporting back to his party following the study. The team today will be making a visit to the incident site, talk to members of the victim family and hold discussion with the local people’s representatives and the provincial head of Nepal police on the matter of the investigation so far, according to Lekhak’s personal secretary Janak Bhatta. Earlier on Saturday, Lekhak held a discussion with the NC district committee office-bearers. Bhagirathi was found dead after rape on February 4. The Police have not been able to nab those behind the heinous act as of yet. Peaceful demonstrations are taking place every day calling for immediate arrest and action against the rapist and murders. Also today, a demonstration will take place at Khochlek bazaar area and in local Sillegada, according to member of the struggle committee Bhojraj Joshi.
