गृहपृष्ठ ∕ Nepal ∕ All-party meeting demands freezing of personal property of suspended NRN treasurer Kunwar Nepal All-party meeting demands freezing of personal property of suspended NRN treasurer Kunwar KathmanduPati April 09, 2021 PORTUGAL – An all-party meeting led by honourary consular general Makar Hamal has requested the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Government of Nepal to put on hold personal property of the suspended treasurer of the Non-Resident Nepali Association, Portugal Bikram Jung Kunwar. Kunwar has been accused of faking air tickets for dozens of Nepali people through his travel agency in Portugal. So far, more than 150 victims have registered their complaints against Kunwar at the Honourary Consulate of Nepal in Portugal and the Embassy of Nepal in France, accusing him of faking air tickets and payment receipts. The meeting held on Wednesday said it was misfortune that a person in a position at a social institution committed a fraud. The issue has landed in the Portugal police and the consular office would take initiatives in this regard, said Hamal. Kunwar is at large. Various Nepali organisations in Portugal have protested his illegal act. NRN Portugal, Honourary Consulate of Nepal in Portugal and the Embassy of Nepal in France in separate statements have drawn the attention of the concerned authority to take action against the guilty and give justice to the victims.
