Impact of monsoon wind: Rain forecast for three more days


KATHMANDU – The weather is cloudy and it is raining in several places of the country due to the influence of the monsoon wind, the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Meteorological Forecasting Division said.

It is partly to generally cloudy in Province no 2 and Bagmati province, and generally to fully cloudy in the rest of the provinces at present with light to moderate rainfall taking place at some places of Province 1 and Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Although the weather cleared up towards the morning in the Kathmandu Valley, it is partly cloudy now. Partly to generally cloudy conditions prevail in Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces at present while it is generally to fully cloudy in the rest of the provinces. Light to moderate rain is likely in some places of Province no 1, 2, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini, and in few places of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.

It will be cloudy in most parts of the country at night with chances of light to moderate rain at many places of Province no 1, 2, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces, and at few places of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.

There is the possibility of heavy rain along with thunder and lightning at one or two places of Province no 1. On Wednesday, the weather will be generally to fully cloudy in most parts of the country with chances of light to moderate rain at some places of Province no 1, 2, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces, and at few places of the Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.

There is possibility of heavy rain accompanied with thunder and lightning at few places of Province no 1, 2, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces. The same weather will prevail on Thursday as well.

The maximum temperature in Kathmandu was 30 degrees Celsius and the minimum 29 degrees Celsius today. Biratnagar received the highest rainfall of 58 millimetres and Kathmandu experienced 28 millimetres in the last 24 hours.
