Government transfers 60 joint secretaries

Most of the transfers are from federal ministries to provincial government while those serving at the provincial level have been transferred to the federal ministries.


KATHMANDU: In a major reshuffle of senior bureaucrats, the government has transferred five dozen joint secretaries.

According to the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration, 60 joint secretaries has been transferred to various ministries and agencies.

Most of the joint secretaries who were in federal ministries have been sent to provincial ministries while those serving at the provincial level have been brought to federal ministries.

However, few transfers are within federal level.

According to the list published by the Ministry, Dinesh Kumar Ghimire, a Joint Secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, has been transferred to the Office of the Chief Minister of Province 1.

Three joint secretaries at the Ministry of Finance have also been transferred to provinces. Shree Krishna Nepal, a joint secretary who had been heading the International Economic Cooperation Coordination Division, is now the secretary at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Planning of Sudur Paschhim province.

Uttar Kumar Khatri and Ramesh K Shiwakoti are other two joint secretaries who were transferred from the Finance Ministry.

Similarly, Krishna Hari Pushkar has been transferred to the Federal Ministry of Home Affairs.
