गृहपृष्ठ ∕ Nepal ∕ Six doctors at Surkhet state hospital contract coronavirus; OPD service shut down Nepal Six doctors at Surkhet state hospital contract coronavirus; OPD service shut down KathmanduPati August 27, 2020 Karnali- At least six doctors at the state hospital in Surkhet have tested positive for the coronavirus. According to a source at the hospital, two consultants and four medical officers were diagnosed with the disease. An additional health worker has also been tested positive for the virus. Hospital Director Dr. Dambar Khadka stated that there had been a large intake of infected people at hospital, and that the transmission risk was high from those who had the virus but who were yet to be tested and diagnosed. Currently, 23 patients are undergoing treatment at the hospital, where OPD department has been shut down for a week from today onward after the confirmation of the virus among doctors. Director Khadka stayed that another decision would be made after a week once the situation is reassessed. Earlier, three doctors of the hospital had contracted coronavirus.
