KATHMANDU: Former judge Madhav Prasad Chalise has passed away from the coronavirus.
44-year old heart patient Chalise had been undergoing treatment at Gangalal hospital since the past five days. A resident of Kathmandu, he had retired from the post of Chief Justice of the then appellate court in Pokhara.
Four additional people have succumbed to the disease, including 65-year-old man of Mirchaiya-6, Siraha, who passed away at the B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan, during treatment on Monday night.
Also among the fatalities were two people from Birgunj, two 60-year-old men from Kolhabi Municipality of Bara, and a 58-year-old man of Hetauda Sub-metropolis-15, who was undergoing treatment at Chitwan Medical College.
A team from the Nepal Army is preparing to manage the bodies of the deceased.
