Accordingly, the Nepal Army has taken charge of the security of Chitwan and Bharatpur airports. According to Chief District Officer Asman Tamang, the army has taken responsibility for security in important agencies as per the decision of the District Security Committee. The Nepal Army will take responsibility for security in these areas till May 20. CDO Tamang said that the army was given the responsibility of security as there was not enough human resource in the police organisation for the election. Nepal Police will do oversee internal security management. The security arrangements in the district have also been strengthened with the aim of holding the local body elections on May 13. Spokesperson of the District Police Office, Chitwan, Deputy Superintendent of Police Narahari Adhikari said that work is underway to secure the polling stations as per the district election security plan.
