Preparation in full swing for citizen help desks along Prithivi Highway

TANAHUN : The District Police Office Tanahun is opening help desks in five different places in light of the upcoming festival season. In order to provide immediate help to passengers, the police administration is setting up citizen help desks in five different stops along the Prithvi Highway.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Arun Poudel shared that the help desks, set up in five different stops from Muglin to Kotre, will help address the complaints of passengers and citizens.

The help desks will be set up at Puljeep of Anbukhairani, Dumre of Bandipur, Damauli of Byas, Tharpu of Myagde and Kotre of Shuklagandaki. “The huge flow of passengers returning home in the festive season face the risk of being cheated and troubled,” he said, adding that the citizen help desks are designed to make travel for people comfortable and safe.

The police have also charted out a security plan in view of potential criminal activities during the festival time. “The security personnel will help people to reach their destinations in a safe manner. We will conduct COVID-19 sensitization towards adopting health safety protocol to contain the transmission of the virus,” he said.

The district traffic police office has also come up with a ‘chain lock’ rule to avoid rampant parking. Traffic Office chief Resham Ranabhat shared that those parking their vehicles anywhere in a rampant manner have faced ‘chain lock’ rule and penalty for unruly behavior.
