गृहपृष्ठ ∕ Nepal ∕ Chandragiri Municipality reports five COVID-19 causalities and 551 cases Nepal Chandragiri Municipality reports five COVID-19 causalities and 551 cases KathmanduPati October 09, 2020 File photo Kathmandu: The largest municipality in the Bagmati State, Chandragiri Municipality, has recorded five deaths from COVID-19 so far while a total of 551 have tested positive for COVID-19 as of Thursday evening. Five people who succumbed to the flu-like infection were from ward no 3, 5, 9 and 14. The municipality which has a total of 15 wards, reported ward no 8 to have the highest cases of infection at 104. According to Municipality spokesperson Haribhakta Maharjan, the lowest number of COVID-19 cases were reported from ward no 2, which had eight. Altogether, 10,000 people have undergone PCR test until date, informed Maharjan, adding that 343 infected persons have returned home upon recovery. Similarly, 165 persons were availing treatment at home-isolation while 38 were receiving treatment at various health facilities across the Kathmandu Valley. The Municipality has converted various community schools to quarantine facilities. Over Rupees 20 million has been spent on the prevention and control of COVID-19 in the municipality, shared Mayor Ghanashyam Giri.
