JUMLA – The District Disaster Management Committee in Jumla has decided to build a well-equipped hospital in the district for the treatment of COVID-19.
A meeting of the committee presided over by Chief District Officer Bhupendra Thapa made this decision.
The decision to construct a separate hospital was made as there was only the Karnali Academy of Health Sciences Teaching Hospital in Jumla for the treatment of patients of all other diseases, according to Assistant Chief District Officer Om Prakash Devkota.
As decided, the new hospital will be built in the Infrastructure Development Office in Jumla, Devkota shared.
Likewise, ambulance services have been managed to rush COVID-19 patients to the hospital. The seven different local levels of Jumla will pay in fare for the ambulances.
The tally of coronavirus cases in Jumla district has reached 404, with a total of 371 of them having returned home after complete recovery from the virus, said the District Administration Office.
