Home Secretary Neupane is self-isolating at home after suffering from Covid-19. Home Secretary Neupane had undergone PCR testing for Covid-19 after developing symptoms a few days ago. As Home Secretary Neupane has been diagnosed with Covid-19, the promotion of Deputy Inspector Generals (DIGs) is also going to be delayed, according to a Nepali Police source. The Home Secretary remains the coordinator of the promotion committee. The Nepal Police source said that the meeting of the promotion committee cannot be held in the absence of the coordinator. This will delay the process of filling a number of posts of DIGs that have fallen vacant. Nine posts of DIGs are currently vacant including the one DIG Biswo Raj Pokharel was promoted to AIG.
