CIAA initiates investigation into financial irregularities complaints against two SSPs

Anti-corruption watchdog’s probe of financial irregularities complaints against SSP Puja Singh and SSP Kiran Bajracharya currently underway

KATHMANDU – The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has initiated a probe into complaints of financial irregularities by two Senior Superintendent of Police (SSPs).

Bed Prasad Bhandari, assistant spokesperson of the CIAA, said that the anti-corruption watchdog is investigating complaints of financial irregularities by SSP Puja Singh and SSP Kiran Bajracharya while they were serving at district police offices.

Singh is currently at the Police Headquarters while Bajracharya is working at Metropolitan Police Range Lalitpur. “There are some complaints including one has embezzled money under the heading of sewage treatment while she was deputed in her working areas. Further investigations are underway,” he said.

SSP Singh is accused of pocketing TA/DA (Travel Allowance/Daily Allowance) provided to police staff transferred to Kavre where she was the incharge between Bhadra 2071 and Ashoj 2072.

As SP, she was the incharge of District Police Office Kavre. According to a CIAA source, there were complaints of financial irregularities against her at the anti-corruption watchdog.

Similarly, SSP Bajracharya is being investigated for alleged irregularities of funds allocated for unclaimed death bodies management while serving as the incharge of Bhaktapur District Police. She was the incharge of District Police Office Bhaktapur between Ashoj 2072 and Mangsir 2073.
