Madhav Nepal faction of CPN (UML) withdraws no-confidence motion against Bagmati’s Chief Minister Paudel

Provincial lawmakers close to Nepal faction to attend meeting called by CM Paudel for today

KATHMANDU – Provincial lawmakers close to Madhav Kumar Nepal faction of CPN (UML) have withdrawn the no-confidence motion filed against Bagmati province’s Chief Minister Dormani Paudel.

All CPN (UML) members of provincial assembly of Bagmati have withdrawn the no-confidence motion against Chief Minister Paudel on Tuesday, said Asta Laxmi Shakya, CPN (UML)’s standing committee member close to the Nepal faction.

Earlier on Poush 10, 45 provincial lawmakers of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) had registered the no-confidence motion against him amid growing intra party dispute of the ruling party.

However, the merger between CPN (Maoist Center) and CPN (UML) to form NCP was scrapped by the recent Supreme Court’s ruling. Nepal-led faction of the CPN (UML) has now backtracked from the process to vote Chief Minister Paudel out of the office.

Arun Nepal, a provincial assembly member close to the Nepal faction filing the no-confidence motion, said that they will attend the meeting called by Chief Minister Paudel for today.
