IPPAN gets new executive committee with Krishna Prasad Acharya as President 


KATHMANDU- Krishna Prasad Acharya has been elected as the new president of the Independent Power Producers’ Association, Nepal (IPPAN). Acharya will now replace the outgoing President Shailendra Guragain. 

Issuing a statement on Monday, the IPPAN said that the new 15-member executive committee was formed on the basis of unanimous agreement on Sunday under the leadership of Acharya. 

Ashish Garg, Ganesh Karki and Mohan Kumar Dangi have been elected as new vice presidents of the association. Garg and Karki were also serving in the Guragain-led executive committee. 

The association has got Gore Sherpa as its new general secretary. Following the amendment in the charter of the organization, the IPPAN has added three secretaries in its executive committee.

Bharat Bahadur Khatri, Ram Acharya and Balaram Khatiwada have been elected in the post of secretaries, according to the statement.

Anand Chaudhary has now become the new Treasurer of the IPPAN which includes Bharat Kumar Khadka, Prakash Dulal, Uttam Blon Lama and Bharat Lamichhane Thapa as executive members. 

Kabita Pokharel Kandel and Abhigya Malla are two other executive members elected in the IPPAN unopposed.
