Kathmandu- An additional 1,016 people in Nepal have tested positive for the coronavirus within the past 24 hours, making it the highest number of registered cases in a single day.
Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population Dr. Jageshwor Gautam informed that the total number of infected people in Nepal has reached 28,257.
Dr. Gautam stated that the number of active cases has reached 10,563. While 2,601 people are currently in home isolation, 13,926 are staying in quarantine facilities.
85 infected people have recovered in the last 24 hours, while a total of 17,580 have returned home after undoing treatment.
Health officials have run 13,461 PCR tests since Monday. Seven people have died since then, tallying the number of coronavirus related deaths in Nepal to 114.
