KATHMANDU – A total of 5,293 more people have recovered from COVID-19 in past 24 hours in the country. With this, the total number of people who have recovered from COVID-19 has reached 515,591 in the country. The recovery rate has now climbed to 85.7 per cent.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 3,749 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded across the nation during the same period. With this, the number of the COVID-19 infected people has reached 601,687.
Meanwhile, 59 people succumbed to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, taking the death toll to 8,238. The latest COVID-19 cases were detected in 15,238 tests including 9,901 RT-PCR and 5,337 antigen tests held in various laboratories in the country in the past 24 hours. According to the Ministry, 3,189,104 RT-PCR tests have been done so far in the country.
Meanwhile, the total number of active cases stands at 77,858. The infected ones were availing treatment in home isolation. Another, 616 suspected to have contracted the flu-like infection are in quarantine.
In Kathmandu valley, the number of active cases stands at 10,527 in Kathmandu district, 4,173 in Lalitpur and 3,091 in Bhaktapur district.
