KATHMANDU – Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has held talks with office bearers of the Election Commission for organising elections to President, Vice President and vacant position of a member of the National Assembly.
The meeting was held today at the Office of Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers. On the occasion, he directed EC’s office bearers to start the necessary process for the polls as per the constitution and legal provisions, said his press coordinator Surya Kiran Sharma.
“You (EC office bearers) put forward the process for the election to the vacant position of a NA member. For the elections of President and Vice President, we will hold discussions among political parties, and reach a conclusion,” he said.
On the occasion, he thanked the EC for successfully organising the local elections and the polls to the House of Representatives and the Province Assembly.
Other present in the meeting were Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel and DPM and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane among others.
Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya and election commissioners apprised the PM of the EC’s works and activities, and the election process.
