The award was presented to her by Mayor of London Sadik Khan at a function held at the House of Commons in London, UK on Thursday night. Mayor Dahal was honoured with the Award under the Political and Public Life Award category. On the occasion, London Mayor Khan was honoured with the Local Government Award while International Woman of the Year Award was presented to President first female president of Mauritius, Amina Gurib Fakim. Earlier, Mayor Dahal had a meeting with Deputy Speaker of the British Parliament House of Commons, Nigel Evans and Conservative MP Dean Russell. During the meeting, Mayor Dahal invited the leaders and other high officials of the UK to visit Bharatpur as it celebrates the Visit Bharatpur Year 2024.
