Baluwatar reaches agreement on appointment of new ministers

KATHMANDU : The chairmen of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP), KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal, have agreed to reshuffle their cabinet soon. During a meeting at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar on Sunday morning, the two chairmen have agreed to reshuffle the cabinet in a few days.

In the meeting, both chairmen have agreed to continue the ongoing discussion. A source informed that the name of the new ministers is yet to be agreed upon.

“After today’s meeting, they have reached an agreement to reshuffle the cabinet in a few days. They have agreed to replace the ministers who have completed their two years of tenure,” said a standing committee member.

Similarly, three standing committee members informed that the two chairmen also discussed the issue of appointing a parliamentarian who has not become a minister previously. According to him, those who have become MPs but not had the chance to become ministers will be favored during this appointment.

“There are those who have not been able to become ministers despite winning MPs many times. Voices have been raised within the party that they should also get a place,” the leader said. He also stated that the cabinet will probably be reconstituted in a few days.
