गृहपृष्ठ ∕ Politics ∕ NSU voices concern against KU charging tuition fees during pandemic Politics NSU voices concern against KU charging tuition fees during pandemic KathmanduPati November 10, 2020 KATHMANDU – Nepali Congress (NC)’s youth wing, the Nepal Students’ Union (NSU), has expressed concern on the Kathmandu University (KU)’s act of slapping educational fees to its students during the pandemic. Issuing a press release on Monday evening, NSU president Rajib Dhungana expressed concern over KU’s recent notice calling for the students to pay educational fees whilst ignoring the context of the pandemic. “Let the KU stop the act of merely raising fee in various pretexts at a time when there was no regular teaching and learning activities”, he said. NSU has claimed that students of KU have lent support to the sit-in staged by NSU calling for the withdrawal of tuition fees. NSU has expressed concern over KU’s act of collecting fees from the students with a penalty for delay in payment despite the unfavorable situation brought about by COVID-19. NSU’s general secretary Deepak Bhattarai said that it is not apt on part of KU to collect fees from students in various contexts without taking the context into consideration.
