Ruling NCP’s intra-party disputes now enter into standing committee

Both political reports of Oli, Prachanda to be presented in standing committee meeting scheduled for today

KATHMANDU – The secretariat meeting of the governing Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has decided to present both political reports of party co-chairs at the standing committee meeting scheduled to be held on Sunday (today).

With the failure of the party secretariat to settle the intra-party dispute, the conflict of the governing party NCP has now entered into the standing committee meeting as an agenda.

The secretariat meeting held on Saturday agreed to convene the standing committee meeting at 1 pm today as per the schedule.

“We will now discuss the party crisis management in the standing committee. Both draft reports of party co-chairs KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ will be presented in the standing committee,” said NCP Spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha.

Though Saturday’s secretariat meeting discussed the crisis in the party, it could not find any conclusion, he said.

All letters exchanged between party co-chairs Oli and Prachanda as well their political reports that they had presented separately in the secretariat meeting will now be presented in the standing committee meeting for the discussion.

In their reports, both of them have blamed each other for the current crisis.  The standing committee meeting is scheduled to be held at party office Dhumbarahi.
