
KATHMANDU: Nepal Communist Party (NCP) led by Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and Madhav Kumar Nepal has suspended Province 1’s eight provincial lawmakers including Chief Minister Sherdhan Rai from the party. The NCP decided to suspend eight lawmakers including Chief Minister Rai for three months.
Others who have been suspended from the party are Internal Affairs and Law Minister Hikmat Kumar Karki, Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives State Minister Ram Bahadur Magar, Physical Infrastructure State Minister Ambir Babu Gurung and Chief Whip Buddhi Kumar Raj Bhandari. The Prachanda-led NCP also suspended provincial lawmakers Ambika Thapa, Bimal Karki and Indramani Parajuli.
Earlier last Wednesday, Bhim Prasad Acharya, the parliamentary party leader of NCP, had sought clarification from eight lawmakers for not attending the meeting of the party.
The Prachanda-led faction has also registered a no-confidence motion against Chief Minister Rai.
