PM Oli urges disgruntled side to come in mainstream politics


KATHMANDU – Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has urged the disgruntled side to come in the mainstream through the medium of dialogue as there is no way other than peaceful politics after the establishment of republic. Addressing the programme organised at Tundikhel on the occasion of 71st Democracy Day today, Prime Minister Oli requested all to repose faith and belief towards peaceful democratic system and move ahead with honesty adopting this practice.

He said, “I want to urge those who are out of the mainstream of peaceful politics to come in the mainstream of the peaceful politics through the medium of dialogue on this occasion.” Saying there was no alternative to move ahead being united in favour of broader national welfare and democracy, the Prime Minister appealed all to move ahead remembering the past sacrifices.

He stressed on national unity, saying, “Let’s move ahead being united for broader welfare and interest giving up minor disputes.” A common initiative creating a beautiful future in days to come uniting Nepal should be forwarded by protecting the achievements gained from people’s struggle, added Prime Minister Oli.

He further said that thoughts and behaviour of all Nepalis should be focused on national welfare for the same. PM Oli expressed the view that the next step should be taken towards the path of addressing people’s aspiration, adding, “I urged all to move ahead making the nation united.”

Government won’t derail from path of democracy Stating the government is fully commitment to the implementation of the constitution, the Prime Minister made it clear that there was no threat to democracy from the government.

“The government will not derail from the path of democracy, neither violate the constitution nor let it happen. It does not indulge in corruption and not let it happen, and will establish good governance and control crime.”

The Prime Minister aimed to meet the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030 and was focused towards that end.
Claiming that his government did outstandingly in favour of people and the first year of the government had remained as the ‘ basic year’ of the development and the second year was the year of commencement of prosperity.

As he said, achievements in regard with taking the country towards the path of prosperity and establishing democratic norms and values were outstanding. ”The world is moving fast in the past seven decades. The world has achieved unusual progress in the sectors of science and technology, development and other vivid sectors. But still something needs to be done for peace, development, social justice and equity. ”

Underlining the need of further strengthening federal democratic republic system and making it more vibrant, the Prime Minister echoed the need of moving ahead by safeguarding achievements in the sectors of infrastructure development, health, education and economic prosperity.

The government is trying its best to follow the course of good governance and development to meet the national aspiration for ‘ prosperous Nepal, happy Nepali’, according to the Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Oli said the government was preparing for a fresh election as it wished to prevent any possible unhealthy attempts for instability within from democracy and to promote democracy, removing obstructions for it. He directed all bodies concerned to gear up for the election responsively. ” The election would be held on the slated date and it should be conducted on time and the fresh people’s mandate was the way to save the country from facing instability.

On the occasion, the Nepal Army helicopter displayed the banner featuring ‘ National Democracy Day-2077” and carried out showering of flower petals. On the command of NA, the Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and the Town Police performed the march pass. The President, Vice President, Speaker, National Assembly Chair, Chief Justice, Deputy Prime Minister, ministers, officials of constitutional bodies and representatives from Nepal-based diplomatic mission were present on the occasion.
