Parliament Secretariat refuses to register Prachanda-Nepal faction’s notice of removing parliamentary party leader of NCP

Meeting Parliament Secretariat’s General Secretary, Prachanda-Nepal faction’s leaders request him to register the notice of their decision to oust parliamentary party leader Oli

KATHMANDU – The Federal Parliament Secretariat has declined to register a notice of change of the parliamentary party leader of Nepal Communist Party from Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and Madhav Kumar Nepal faction.

Though Prachanda, Nepal and senior leader Jhalanath Khanal met the Parliament Secretariat’s General Secretary Dr Bharat Raj Gautam and informed him of the decision of 115 lawmakers to change the parliamentary party leader, he refused to register the formal notice.

Claiming that the decision was made from the majority of the members of the parliamentary party, they asked the Parliament Secretariat to register the letter.

After the Parliament Secretariat refused to register the notice, lawmakers of the Prachanda-Nepal faction including Pampha Bhusal demanded the reason for declining their notice.

The Parliament Secretariat said that it cannot register the notice until the legal dispute of the NCP is not settled by the Election Commission.

The Prachanda-Nepal faction has been pressurizing the Parliament Secretariat to give recognition to their decision to remove parliamentary party leader KP Sharma Oli, deputy leader Subhash Nembwang and Whip Shanta Chaudhary.
