KATHMANDU: Chairpersons of the ruling Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda have convened a secretariat meeting. Both the chairpersons have called a secretariat meeting on Monday at 9 am.
CPN spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha informed that a meeting of the secretariat has been convened to resolve ongoing disputes within the party. The meeting will cover problems within the party and review any actions needed to be taken by the government.
According to sources, the meeting has convened to approve the task force formed on Friday. Members of the task force include Bhim Rawal, Shankar Pokhrel, Janardan Sharma, Pampha Bhusal and Surendra Pandey.
After the standing committee meeting, which had been postponed since July 3, could not be held, Chairperson Oli had been requesting for a secretariat meeting to be held. Senior leaders Jhala Nath Khanal, Madhav Nepal and spokesperson Shrestha had also agreed to have one.
Chairperson Prachanda on the other hand had been calling for a meeting of the Standing Committee or the Central Committee. A meeting between the two Chairpersons has been called at the secretariat.
