KATHMANDU – Minister for Communications and Information Technology Nainkala Thapa has committed to resolving the problems faced by the media persons. She has also urged all to point out the weaknesses of the government.
Talking to the FNJ delegates at the Ministry here today, Minister Thapa also committed to managing COVID-19 vaccines to the journalists who were yet to get vaccinated. She also opined to work together with FNJ in the issues of the media persons adding that she was positive to addressing their genuine demands.
She said that the working procedure regarding free of cost medical treatment and insurance worth Rs 700,000 would be prepared with in a month as per the spirit of the budget. The delegates briefed her about the latest updates of the media persons’ concern and problems and COVID-19 impact on them.
On the occasion, the senior Vice President of the FNJ, Ramesh Bista urged the Minister to take immediate steps after forming an effective mechanism to address their demands. About 1,000 journalists are infected with COVID-19 while 20 have lost their lives in the country till today.
