KATHMANDU – Deputy Prime Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel has spoken the need of further promoting the tradition of yoga, which as he said originated from Nepali land in ancient times.
Attending a virtual programme organised by Patanjali Yoga Committee, Nepal on the occasion of the 7th International Day of Yoga this morning, the DPM stressed the need to take the yoga to a new height. The importance and relevance of yoga practice had further increased at present time for healthy life and sound mind.
It is a matter of pride for Nepal and Nepali that lately the significance of yoga has become global, according to the DPM. He utilized the forum to praise noted yoga masters Ramdev Baba and Acharya Balkrishna who is from Nepal for their contribution to establishing the Yoga practice at the global-level.
On the occasion, Patanjali Yoga Committee, Nepal’s central in-charge Lava Dev Mishra gave a session on international yoga protocols and the yoga practice class was also the part of the programme. Other participants of the programme were of the view of further promoting yoga and the Ayurved science for the welfare of the entire humankind.
June 21 each year is celebrated as the International Day of Yoga since 2015 following its inception in the United Nations General Assembly a previous year.
