Citing the two acted against the party rules and statute, the party has submitted a letter to Speaker Purna Bahadur Gharti, seeking their removal from the post of PA member, according to UML Parliamentary Party Chief Whip for Lumbini, Bhumishwor Dhakal. Shahi is the incumbent Minister Without Portfolio in the Province Government. He was elected to the 2017 Province Assembly election from Nawalparasi 1 (Kha) from the election symbol ‘Sun’, the party symbol of CPN (UML) while Oli was elected from Dang 3 (Kha ) in the 2019 November by-election on behalf of the then Nepal Communist Party (NCP), the party formed by uniting the CPN (UML) and the CPN (Maoist Centre).
