APF plays crucial role in maintaining peace and order: CM Karki

BIRATNAGAR –  Chief Minister of Koshi Province, Hikmat Kumar Karki, said that the Armed Police Force (APF) has been playing a vital role in border security, disaster management and peace establishment.

At a programme organized in Itahari of Sunsari district to mark the 24th establishment day of APF No 1 Brigade’s main office today, CM Karki recognized the notable role of the APF in border security especially in those places not having border posts and buildings.

CM Karki lauded, “The role played by the APF in border areas during COVID-19 pandemic and during disasters being in frontline is commendable.” He also praised that the APF had, despite the limited resources at its disposal, been contributing in increasing revenue collection by deploying themselves in the border areas.

According to him, the provincial government had constructed 52 border posts and reaffirmed his commitment to the APF for additional support in coming days. “Nepal is located between two big countries. Since we share an open border with India, we should work in the best interest of our country through coordination and cooperation,” the CM argued.

Similarly, APF’s Deputy Inspector General of Police, Shambhu Subedi mentioned that the APF reached here by serving people after surmounting various hurdles and difficulties. Similarly, Senior Superintendent of Police Manish Thapa had briefed about various works carried out by the APF and its ongoing undertakings.
