Trinidad- Nepali Cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane takes one wicket for his side Jamaica Tallawahs against St. Lucia Zouks in Sunday’s game, although his side lost the match by 11 runs.
Zouks had won the toss and opted to bat first.
Lamichhane came into action in the eighth over of the first inning. His fifth ball was hit for a six by Rahkeem Cornwall, but he retaliated in the next ball with his googly, smashing the leg stump of Cornwall, who scored 32 runs from 29 balls hitting two fours and three sixes.
Lamichhane returned to attack in the eleventh over. Zouks’s batsmen struggled against Lamichhane and managed to score merely one run.
Zouks’ batsmen looked helpless in front of Lamichhane and could not score any runs from his third over. Lamichhane bowled the only maiden over of the match.
However, Najibullah Zadran hit Lamichhane all over the park for a four and a six. Lamichhane went for eleven runs in his final over.
Lamichhane took one wicket at the expense of 20 runs with one maiden over. He has been in the phenomenal touch throughout the tournament.
Chasing 146, Tallawahs scored 134 at the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs and lost the game by 11 runs.
Zouks’ bowler Zahir Khan was declared the Player of the Match for taking three key wickets.
Jamaica Tallawahs will face Trinbago Knight Riders, who are yet to be beaten this season, in the first semifinal on September 8 at 7:45 pm.
