Sakib was penalized for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct. Despite being named Man of the Match, he faced sanctions after an altercation with Nepal team captain Rohit Paudel during the third over of Nepal’s innings. The ICC confirmed the penalty after evidence showed Sakib physically touching Rohit. He has been fined 15 percent of his match fee. According to ICC’s player conduct rules, no player is allowed to improperly touch an opposing player during an international match. The confrontation between Sakib and Rohit was visible on live television, with footage showing Sakib attempting to push Rohit. The incident occurred at the end of the third over while Nepal was chasing a target of 107 runs in Saint Vincent on June 17.
