Trump had earlier been nominated by former Japanese PM Sinjo Abe after receiving a request from the US government in 2018 following the President’s Singapore summit with his North Korean counterpart Kim Jong Un. However, the Nobel Peace Prize was instead awarded to Denis Mukwege and Nadia Murad in 2018. So far, four US Presidents– Theodore Roosevelt in 1906, Woodrow Wilson in 1920, Jimmy Carter in 2002, and Barack Obama in 2009- have received the Nobel Peace Prize. The winner of the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize will not be announced until October of next year. Comments 0 Share your view on this story. Please keep it civil and respectful. No comments yet.
