A Province Assembly (PA) member with the majority backing by two or more than two parties representing in the PA can claim the position as per Article 168 (2) of the Constitution as no any single party has a majority in the recently held PA elections. The deadline for submitting a claim ends at 4 pm on January 9. There are a total of 110 members in the Bagmati PA, including 37 from the Nepali Congress, 27 from the CPN (UML) 21 from the CPN (Maoist Centre), 13 from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party, seven from the CPN (Unified Socialist), three from the Nepal Workers Peasants Party and two from the Hamro Nepali Party.
