गृहपृष्ठ ∕ Nepal ∕ Wild cat taken under control from Makwanpur brought to Chitwan Nepal Wild cat taken under control from Makwanpur brought to Chitwan KathmanduPati November 27, 2023 CHITWAN – A tiger which is believed to have killed two people recently in Makwanpur has been relocated to Chitwan. Chitwan National Park’s information officer, Ganesh Prasad Tiwari, said a female wild cat of around 10 years of age was tranquilized using darting techniques on Sunday night. The animal was taken under control from Manahari rural municipality-6. It is believed that the wild cat killed two males on Friday and Sunday. It allegedly killed Hari Prasad Poudel, 43, of Dubichaur of Rapti Municipality-1 in Chitwan. The remains of another male were also retrieved from Dobhan that lies in between Rapti and Lothar rivers during the search for Poudel. The animal has been brought to Kasara. Tiwari said they are seeking suitable space within the part to accommodate the animal. All enclosures in the CNP have been already occupied. Presently, there are four tigers in Kasara and two in Sauraha. Prior to this, the park sent three tigers to Parsa, Banke and Bardiya National Parks due to space constraints. A total of 355 tigers in Nepal, 128 alone are in Chitwan.
