KATHMANDU – Rabi Lamichhane, President of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has said that the savings of cooperative victims will be returned within 100 days.
Addressing an election rally in Itahari, Sunsari, on Tuesday, Lamichhane pledged that a government led by RSP would refund small savings of cooperative victims within 100 days.
He accused previous governments of doing nothing except imprisoning him. “Did anyone get their money back from previous governments except putting Ravi in jail? No. Now, an RSP-led government will return small depositors’ money within 100 days,” he said.
He also stated that the landless problem would be resolved through a commission formed with a team of experts. He said, “As Balen Ji has said, the landless issue will be resolved by counting days. A powerful commission of experts -not party-affiliated individuals -will be formed. RSP will implement the recommendations made by that commission.”
Chairman Lamichhane further said that bulldozers will be used not on the huts of the poor, but on mansions.
He also commented that some leaders had not learned to change policies for road construction even after serving as Members of Parliament for 20 years. Targeting the Nepali Congress, he said, “After being an MP for 20 years, only now comes the realization that policies must be changed to build roads. Whatever needs to be done- whether bringing equipment or technology -RSP will do all of that.”
