Nagendra Sah named Nepal Oil Corporation Chief

Kathmandu [Nepal], August 6 – Nepal’s government has appointed Nagendra Sah as the Executive Director of the state-owned Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC), the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies said on Thursday.

Ministry spokesperson Netra Prasad Subedi said the Council of Ministers approved Sah’s appointment at its meeting on Wednesday.

A chartered accountant from Nagarain Municipality-3 in Dhanusha district, Sah had been serving as the corporation’s officiating executive director before securing the top post through an open and competitive selection process.

The appointment follows recommendations made by a government committee tasked with selecting the corporation’s executive director. On Aug 2, the committee shortlisted three candidates including Sah, Kaushal KC of Pyuthan and Sanji Kumaar Dev of Saptari.

Nepal Oil Corporation is the country’s state-owned enterprise responsible for importing, storing and distributing petroleum products. Sah’s appointment comes as the corporation continues efforts to strengthen fuel supply management and operational efficiency across Nepal.
