Kathmandu [Nepal], August 19 – Top leaders from India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and opposition Indian National Congress are set to visit Kathmandu for a special conclave on August 27.
BJP National Vice President Ram Madhav, BJP Foreign Department Coordinator Vijay Chauthaiwale, BJP National Executive member Vinay Sahasrabuddhe and Congress leader Shashi Tharoor are expected to attend the event.
Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava will also participate in the conclave.
Nepal’s Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal, Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane, Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa and Sumnima Udas, chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on International Affairs is also scheduled to join the discussions.
The conclave will focus on Nepal-India relations, regional politics, economic cooperation and the changing geopolitical landscape, according to organisers.
The gathering comes as Kathmandu and New Delhi continue to engage on bilateral and regional issues amid shifting geopolitical dynamics in South Asia.
The event is being organized by Indian news network NDTV and will be held at the Yak & Yeti Hotel in Kathmandu.
The participation of senior figures from both India’s ruling party and its main opposition is expected to provide a broad political perspective on Nepal-India ties and wider regional developments.
