गृहपृष्ठ ∕ Breaking ∕ Army Chief Sigdel meets China’s Defence Minister Breaking Army Chief Sigdel meets China’s Defence Minister KathmanduPati September 17, 2026 Kathmandu [Nepal], September 17 – Chief of the Nepali Army, General Ashok Raj Sigdel met Chinese Defence Minister Admiral Dong Jun in Beijing on Thursday during his visit to China. According to the Nepali Army the two sides discussed various matters of mutual interest as well as issues concerning Nepal-China military relations. During his China visit, General Sigdel also inspected China’s National Defense University (NDU) where he received a briefing on the university’s activities and academic programmes. He also attended the opening session of the 13th Beijing Xiangshan Forum. Sigdel’s visit is focused on high-level discussions and cooperation related to Nepal-China military relations and mutual assistance. The visit comes as the two sides continue engagement on military cooperation and matters of shared interest. The meetings and activities in Beijing form part of Sigdel’s official China visit, his first visit to the country since becoming army chief.
