In an interview with Fox News, the 80-year-old president congratulated Democrats for their strong showing but said he did not consider the results a personal defeat. Trump said he was willing to cooperate with Democrats on various issues but warned that he would veto legislation he disagreed with. He acknowledged that the Iran war and rising fuel costs had become unpopular among voters although he maintained that Americans understood the importance of his policy towards Tehran. In a post on Truth social, Trump claimed Republicans would have won by a wider margin had he been on the ballot. He also criticised Texas Governor Greg Abbott. With Democrats controlling both chambers of Congress, Trump’s remaining two years in office are expected to face greater political challenges. Comments 0 Share your view on this story.
