Kathmandu- The Prime Minister’s Secretariat has objected to a statement made by the Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal (JSPN), in which it stated that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and his government has no concrete action plan and that the Prime Minister is “physically and mentally fragile.” The Prime Minister’s Secretariat has replied that the remarks are rude and biased.
The Prime Minister’s Press Adviser Surya Thapa issued a press release on Tuesday and questioned the JSPN on its comments. “Where will such a display of obscenity lead us to?” he rhetorically stated.
“Making such statements, after already having held responsible positions like the Prime Minister, and then identifying themselves as being well-educated is only vilification and insolvency of thoughts,” he said. “Disputes, differences and disagreements are considered normal in politics, but where does this level of defamation lead us? It would be better for the concerned people and parties to be more mindful of these things.”
Adviser Thapa argued that those who cannot debate on principles, policies and programs willingly turn their eyes away from already made progress.
“Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has been criticized, protested and abused, and this is nothing new. It is a clear fact that those who see him as an obstacle in fulfilling their vested interests have been doing so for the past six decades. Such elements are confined to the pit of history. It is a universally acknowledged truth that the steps directed by others, wrong policies, ideas and behaviors do not benefit anyone,” he said. “The standards and moralities of any culture and society are usually reflected in the behaviors of the people residing there.”
Thapa also said that people who have reached such a dignified position should use polite language. “Political parties can criticize and oppose the government by expressing their views and dissent,” he said. “But serious objections must be raised against derogatory, baseless, misleading and irresponsible remarks made towards the President, Prime Minister, and other responsible officials.”
