गृहपृष्ठ ∕ Politics ∕ PM Oli positive toward demands of Janata Samajwadi Party Politics PM Oli positive toward demands of Janata Samajwadi Party Meeting between PM Oli and JSP leaders centered on roping the Madesh-based party into the government KathmanduPati March 12, 2021 KATHMANDU – Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has held a meeting with leaders of Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP). The meeting that lasted for three hours centered on the demands raised by Madhes-based parties. According to a source close to Baluwatar, JSP leaders expressed commitment for supporting and joining the government if their demands are met. Prime Minister Oli’s Press Advisor Surya Thapa said that the meeting between Prime Minister Oli and JSP leaders was positive. He said that an informal meeting will be held on Friday between task forces of JSP and the ruling CPN (UML). Prime Minister Oli’s foreign affairs advisor Rajan Bhattarai said that the two parties have agreed to continue their talks. JSP leaders have been demanding the release of Resham Chaudhary, constitution amendment and withdrawal of charges against protesters of Madhesh movement. Prime Minister Oli had invited JSP leaders for a meeting as part of his efforts to rope in the Madhes-based party to join the government. JSP’s Chairmen Mahanta Thakur and Upendra Yadav along with other senior leaders Rajendra Mahato and Ashok Rai were present in the meeting.
