The party issuing a press statement today said that the government publicly announcing that hospital beds for the Covid-19 infected were not likely to be ensured not only suggested its inability to handle the crisis but also showed how irresponsible it was regarding the current situation. The party has urged the government to work on a war-footing and expand the state’s capacity to struggle against the pandemic effectively. Besides, the government has been advised to show its dedication and come with substantive plans to handle the crisis. The main opposition has urged the government to ensure the cooperation from private medical facilities, be clear and transparent of what sorts of cooperation it has expected from political parties and other organisation in the present hours and to keep the morale of frontline workers high. The party has further drawn the government attention towards the realising the gravity of the current crisis and act accordingly.
