KATHMANDU – Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Damodar Bhandari, has said the government is always committed to building an atmosphere favorable for non-resident Nepalis (NRNS) to invest in Nepal.
In his address to the NRN Global Conclave commenced here today with the theme of ” Transformation and Unity: Labour, Investment and the Continuity of Citizenship “, the Minister said the government always wishes to strengthen cooperation with the NRNs for Nepal’s development and prosperity.
He said he is hopeful that the Conclave provide feedback to the government for advancing policy reforms on various issues including the franchise for the Nepali diaspora, investment, foreign employment, and social security.
He utilized the moment to remind the gathering that the government has prioritised the attraction of NRNs’ investment to Nepal. The matter of establishing the NRN Development Fund to attract capital and technology to Nepal is welcoming, he said.
He further added that Nepal wishes to take maximum benefits from NRNs skills, and income they secured from the world market for the socio-economic transformation of the country.
