According to Banke’s COVID-19 focal person Naresh Shrestha, the deceased was a 58-year-old man from Sahare of Gurbhakot Municipality in Surkhet district. Shrestha shared that the infected inmate died in an isolation facility at 6:25 am. The prisoner, who was serving his term for murder, had been admitted to Bheri Hospital after he complained of illness. Nasal and throat swabs of the inmate suffering from asthma and respiratory related complications were taken. In his report he was found to have contracted the flu-like infection. With this, the number of people having succumbed to the deadly infection in the Banke district has reached 11. Among them, four were from outside the district, informed Shrestha.
