Two other members of the gang have been apprehended by police. Spokesperson for Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, Superintendent of Police Rabindra Regmi, said Santosh Ghalan of Sindhuli has been injured due to live bullet fired in self-defence by police. “Ghalan was injured when the police team opened fire in retaliation after the looters’ gang attacked our police team,” he said. The injured Ghalan is being treated at ANMS Hospital, Jorpati. Police have nabbed Shanta Lama and Jiten Lama in connection with the incident, and have also confiscated seven bullets, one pistol and two motorbikes from them, according to SP Regmi.
