The 52-year-old man of Nepalgunj sub-metropolis-3, who had been admitted to the COVID-19 isolation ward at the Kohalpur-based Teaching Hospital, succumbed to the disease this morning, shared resource person of the Health Office Banke, Naresh Shrestha. He had been admitted to the ward at 11:30 pm on September 22 after being diagnosed with pneumonia in both lungs. Chief District Officer of Banke Ram Bahadur Kurumbang expressed grief over the demise of the man and informed that preparation is underway to manage the dead body in coordination with his family members and the Nepali Army. With this, the death toll from the coronavirus infection in Banke has reached 12. As many as 384 infected are receiving treatment in different isolation hospitals of Banke.
