According to the APF’s Baidhyanath Brigade Chief DIG Harishankar Budhathoki, the BOP was set up as per the policy of the government to mobilize APF for border security to protect the border pillars and to curb cross-country crimes. On the occasion, DIG Budhathoki directed security personnel to be deployed to the newly set up BOP to fulfill their responsibility of defending the border. The APF has already set up BOP in places like Sadani Bajar, Pari Gaun and Arsurani village in the district. Prior to this, there were no police stations or posts in Rupal. Hence the cases of smuggling had been on the rise lately. With the establishment of the BOP, the locals are confident that there will be control in such illegal activities.
